Stephanie Jost is a ceramic artist whose work is rooted in a deep love of the natural world. Inspired by coastlines, woodland, changing landscapes and the small organic details that others might pass by, she translates nature’s forms, textures and colours into one-of-a-kind pieces. Her faith is woven quietly through her practice, shaping her appreciation of the beauty, resilience and individuality found within God’s creation.
Using traditional making methods, Stephanie often combines hand-building with forms thrown on a vintage kick wheel. She creates both functional and sculptural work, celebrating the subtle variations and distinctive character that emerge through clay, glaze and fire. Through her work, she hopes to bring nature a little closer, encouraging people to pause and appreciate the quiet beauty of objects shaped by hand.
