I have always been interested in art, both looking at pictures and drawing and painting, especially as a young child and teenager.
‘O’ Level Art wasn’t very inspiring in the 1950s, and I then just dabbled in drawing and watercolour painting until I discovered art classes after retirement when I was lucky enough to find a very good local authority beginners’ art class, which was a revelation.
Since then, I’ve been to many classes and short courses, and I enjoy using different media and experimenting with different styles. However, my main interest now is in drawing and painting in oils.
I haven’t so far ventured into conceptual art – my bed gets made every morning.
I’m a member of Hillingdon Artists and the Society of Ruislip Artists.
