Hi Im Gabrielle a painter and Educator . I create work that is surreal and sometimes sacred or personal . Lately I have been fascinated by line drawings of yesteryear and blending them with whimsical and reverent themes.
My true passion is painting. I graduated from Art school in New Zealand, my degree focusing on conceptual contemporary art . Having persevered with Teaching for a number of years I have decided that now is the time to focus on my practice and give my soul some time to breathe .
I am exploring the impact of colour and the act of layering to create a sense of impermanence . Clouds fascinate me ; I want to explore the ethereal quality in greater depth with future work.
