I think of myself primarily as a storyteller, and I tell these stories with words and colours. My works are largely inspired by the colourful city of Lagos (where I grew up) and by extension, Africa which I express in the boldness of my colours and the deeply human stories I try to tell on my canvas. I often gravitate towards the human form because I believe that the body itself is a powerful vessel of art and storytelling and can be used as a statement on identity, resilience, and shared humanity.
