I look at natural phenomenon to inspire my ceramics. Observation of my surroundings is to me very important. Some of my work is inspired by landscape. Shadows and reflections, sunsets and sunrises are also setting off points. All my work is handbuilt. I colour clays with metal oxides and also mix coloured slips which I apply to my work and burnish. It is fired to 960 degrees C in an electric kiln the post-fired in newspaper or sawdust.
