I colour and prepare the basic fabric myself. Sometimes it is calico, but not always. I then add textures, additional colour and perhaps appliqués and various other materials such as raffia, net, beads, cords, etc. I may also add embroidery in various types of thread – wool, cotton, metallic, etc. Each design is different. It is usually prepared to hang on a wall and the dimensions vary. None is very large or heavy.
