My name is Lise Poulsen, and I have lived in Hillingdon for the past 22 years. I moved to Ruislip from California with my husband in 1998. Having raised my children, I now find time to pursue my joy in life – Painting.
I specialise in portraits by capturing the spirit of my subjects through the eyes and window to the soul. My portraits capture a special moment in time that can be relived and enjoyed and then passed down to future generations to admire. A unique and individual artwork that becomes part of a family’s historical tapestry.
I am also proficient and enjoy painting in different methods that include abstract and pop-art. I strive to tell a story and instigate feeling and mood through my creations. My goal is for every viewer to interpret my vision in their own unique and personal way and associate their own sense of attachment. I paint in mediums that include oil, acrylic and mixed media. Through my work, I aim to reveal that which is glorious and special in our world. I look for colour contrast and light. I seek to find beautiful moments in a picture or subject and expand on those.
